Media Literacy in Practice: Teacher-Created Lessons Using the Library of Congress
Join us to hear from teacher leaders who have written and integrated a media literacy lesson into their curriculum. Teachers from a variety of disciplines, including history, Spanish, government, and science will share classroom-tested lessons and showcase student learning. Each lesson focuses on developing students' media literacy skills and supports students to engage with resources from the Library of Congress.
Participants will:
- Learn how to navigate the Library of Congress resources
- Receive classroom-tested lessons from teacher leaders to support media literacy
- Leave with new strategies to teach media literacy in middle and high school classrooms
When: February 26th & March 5th 4:00-5:20pm PST
Cost: FREE
Location: Online via ZOOM
Hosted by the Media Literacy Collaborative, a collaboration between the UC Irvine Teacher Academy and The History & Civics Project at UC Santa Cruz, and this workshop is funded by the Teaching Primary Sources program.
