Bring your lessons to life with strategies that integrate SEL, cultural content, and standards. In this hands-on session, you’ll explore practical routines and activities that make learning meaningful and engaging. Walk away with fresh tools to help students feel confident, connected, and motivated to learn.
Connected Classrooms, Connected Communities marks a new chapter in the California World Language Project’s professional learning offerings. For the first time ever, all CWLP Sites are collaborating to provide a unified series of Saturday, half-day online workshops designed to strengthen connections to students, culture, colleagues, and emerging tools like AI. Each interactive session, led by experienced CWLP teacher leaders, offers practical, classroom-tested strategies for creating meaningful and engaging learning experiences aligned with California and ACTFL standards. Early sessions have seen strong success, with 25 participants each, and have explored timely themes such as fostering spontaneous interpersonal communication with AI support, scaffolding authentic materials for all learners, building safe and inclusive classrooms, and celebrating community at year’s end. Upcoming sessions expand on these themes, helping teachers thoughtfully integrate SEL, cultural content, and ethical AI use into their practice. Together, these statewide sessions broaden access to CWLP’s high-quality professional learning while cultivating a vibrant, connected statewide community of world language educators.
